Kidney stone treatment with Shock wave Lithotripsy machine is a procedure that is done under general anesthetic and is non invasive and is referred to as Extra Corporeal Lithotripsy, using an acoustic pulse.

The procedure is done on theatre under general anesthesia.

The Shock wave lithotripter breaks up stones in the kidney or ureter with minimal collateral damage by using an externally-applied, focused, high-intensity acoustic pulse. After the procedure, the fragments of stones pass out in the urine.

The Shock wave Lithotriptor may be used with kidney stone that is causing pain or blocking the urine flow. The Lithotriptor treat successfully stones that are between 4 mm and 2 cm in diameter
